All the drain-clearing power of a jetter is wasted without the right nozzle. That’s something jetter manufacturers know well and why they often provide an assortment of the most popular nozzles with each jetter they sell. Often, these nozzles come from Arthur Products because jetter manufacturers know the performance of their machines will only be as good as the nozzles used.

Custom-drilled nozzles are key

Whether dealing with the biggest pipe blockages or the trickiest sewer line entanglements, Arthur Products has custom-drilled nozzles that can do the job. New jetters equipped with our nozzles save customers time because they are already custom-drilled to meet the pressure, flow, length of hose, and other considerations of the machine. That means the new jetter trailer is ready to go to work on day one.

While experienced jetter purchasers typically know what types of nozzles they want for specific jobs, first-time jetter buyers often work with Arthur Products to determine the optimum set of nozzles for their needs. Specific nozzle requirements can range from dealing with ice, sand, roots, and other impediments to the need to negotiate tight and damaged pipes.

Some customers need help with very specific challenges. For example, one company needed special nozzles optimized to clean pig fat at a pig farm, as well as other nozzles for its more mainstream work. Arthur Products worked with them to develop a solution for cleaning grease. In this case, an end-user, an equipment reseller, Arthur products, and the original jetter manufacturer all worked together to create the most effective custom solution for dealing with the problem.

Asking seven key questions

Jetter manufacturers who include our nozzles with their units work with Arthur Products to ensure the nozzles they include with their products match the intended purpose of the machine. We have refined this process down to seven specific questions that we ask each customer regarding their jetter’s operational parameters and an additional query about any special needs they may have. Based on the customer’s input, we custom drill each nozzle to meet their specific needs.

Arthur Products will not sell a nozzle to a customer if we do not think it will perform. In one case, a customer working in an older house wanted a specific nozzle for a job. However, on reviewing the data he submitted, we didn’t think the jetter he was using was powerful enough to get the job done and did not sell him a nozzle. We did recommend he scope out the problem using an in-pipe camera to obtain a better perspective on the issue. Rather than pursuing a quick sale today, Arthur Products wants life-long customers.

An aerospace connection

When the current ownership acquired Arthur Products in 2006, the practice of drilling nozzles was more art than science as technicians based their work on hard-won trial and error experience. With roots in the aerospace industry working with aircraft wing deicing systems the new ownership thus understood how airflows and pressures related and interacted. Arthur Products then began to formalize their nozzle-drilling processes, distilling them into the seven questions technicians always ask customers regarding their nozzles. In the process, he turned art into science.
